ICT in Context - Classroom Case Studies
Appropriate uses of ICT to enhance learning and teaching is a key issue in the success of the National Grid for Learning (NGfL).
The aim of ICT in Context - Classroom Case Studies is to identify a number of appropriate generic learning outcomes and issues, and to share these with teachers across Scotland as innovative staff development materials.
The sixteen Scottish schools featured reflect a wide range of pupils' ages and attainments; in different classroom and subject settings. The data was recorded from classroom teachers, their pupils and students and school managers.
In many of the case studies there are examples of teacher and pupil produced ICT-based resources. The website and email addresses of the schools are included should you wish to contact them.

Each Classroom Case Study is presented with the same overall design, covering three interconnected contexts:
managers explain ICT in the wider school setting
teachers describe their classroom context
students discuss their learning.
From these sources of data a list is identified which is available on the Case Study Menu page that follows. Please note that all elements of the list are not evident in all case studies, but the list is consistently identified across the age range, subject diversity and learner attainments.
The Case Studies show what can be achieved in different circumstances offering us a deeper understanding of the learning and teaching process.
